Apparently my enthusiasm for small groups is not quite as contagious as I would have hoped. We had our table set up yesterday with information and only three people came by. I guess I should be excited that three people came by. That's a start, right?
Anyway, I still have no leaders for the groups. One lady said she was interested in being an apprentice leader and two others (a married couple) indicated they were interested in being in a group, but did not want to lead.
I realize it has only been a week, but I was hoping and praying for so much more. I guess this is just God testing my faith to see if I will keep with it.

Small Groups Launch
We officially launched our small groups ministry yesterday, May 17, 2009. Pastor BJ was kind enough to let me speak to the congregation to explain what small groups are going to look like. It is a bit nerve-racking because now the ministry is "real". We have taken it from the hypothetical to the actual.
I am still waiting to hear from individuals who are interested in being leaders. My prayer is that we will get 4 or 5 single people or couples who would be willing to lead our first set of small groups. I am also praying that we will have a large group of people who will want to participate in the small groups.
I am hoping that a year from now we will have a lot to celebrate. I think that if we have even one group that is strong and new people in our church as a result of this ministry, it will be considered a success.
